Wine Tour (2 days)


Day 1: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

Tour to Mtskheta – The ancient capital of Georgia. We start this tour with  visit the Jvari Monastery and the Cathedral Svetitskhoveli. Jvari – Monastery of Georgia is erected on the top of the Mountain near conbfluence of two rivers – Aragvi and Kura. According to historic data this is the place where St. Nino, enlightener of Georgia erected the cross. The Jvari Monastery is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture involved in a World heritage of UNESCO. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is a patriarch temple of Georgian Orthodox Church in Mtskheta and while a millennium was a main Cathedral of all Georgia. At present time it is considered as one of the spiritual symbols of a modern Georgia.
After visiting the ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta we return to Tbilis and arrange the city tour. Our first visit will be to the Old City: Narikala fortress (IVc.) – Tbilisi soul.. We starts walking the sweeping road upwards. It is certainly not easy, but even old people usually express their desire to go and to pray to God and evidently this is the reason why they don’t feel tiredness. The citadel was built in fourth century and that times it was called “Shuris tsikhe” – “Fortress of Envy”. While Mongol invasion it got the name “Narin Kala” – (“Small Fortress”).Then we will visit Mtatsminda (St. David’s Mountain”) on the top of which  is arranged the fascination Park with various amusements for children named Funicular. It was recently reconstructed. At present time it is the most favorite place for a rest. On the slope of the Mountain is arranged the Pantheon (1929) where are buried the well-known poets and writers and public figures of Georgia. In the central part near the holly St.David’s spring is erected The St. David Church. Then let us go to Sharden Street with a lot of cafes and the restaurants. This is the cult place of Tbilisi. Here in the old part of the city we turned to be in a real fairy tale, that goes on along Leselidze Street, famous with the extraordinary color and fascination beauty. Overnight in Tbilisi

Day 2: Tbilisi – Signagi – Bodbe- Tsinandali – Telavi – Tbilisi

After breakfast departure to Eastern part of Georgia, Kakheti (motherland of grapes and viticulture). The first visit will be made in Signagi (Town of Love), enjoying the sightseeing of the ancient town surrounded by the old fortress, recently reconstructed and retained to our days. One of the important places for a visit there is ethnographic museum, where one may observe the unique paintings of Niko Pirosmani, famous Georgian artist of the beginning of XX-ies. Let us continue our visits – St. George Cathedral in Bodbe village where St. Nino, enlightener of Georgia is buried. The next visit to the village Tsinandali, 10 km from Telavi. Tsinandali is famous place for its vineyards and for the House-Museum of Alexander Chavchavadze, noble-man, well-known poet, public figure. The next visit to Telavi, old capital of Kakheti and  nowadays its cultural, economic and industrial center. On of the numerous sightseeing is the Ling Irakli Palace. After visits to the other old monuments of Kakheti we return to Tbilisi.Dinner with national meals in a restaurant.
